After a 2-year break due to covid, it was finally back – FACHPACK 2021 in Nuremberg. This important European trade fair in the field of packaging, processes and technologies attracted 788 exhibitors and 24,000 trade visitors from all over Europe this year.
Characterized by the core theme of sustainability and environmentally friendly packaging and this year's slogan "We make the future", there were once again interesting and forward-looking presentations and contributions to listen to and join in the discussion, particularly in the PACKBOX forum. One contribution was organized and moderated by Peter Désilets, naturally on the focus topic of Packaging Future and Sustainability. A complete success, as the pictures show, and with the terrific speakers from our network, an important trend topic was highlighted: Reusable Packaging as a long-term sustainable solution to the waste problem.
In addition to looking at the current situation with reusable packaging solutions, it was shown what a re-use system of the future should look like and what needs to be done to optimize existing reusable concepts.
MORE reusable must become MORE!
All participants agreed that reuse will also have a greater presence in the markets in the future. As a co-initiator of a new international reuse system, we want to drive this forward with our network partners.
